I’ve seen people wandering aimlessly around the gym looking like lost puppies many times.. I'd bet money that they haven’t planned what they were going to do once they got to the gym.
Having a plan in mind can be just as important as GOING to the gym...
Unless you are some kind of gym master/prodigy not having any sort of idea or base in which to start a workout can just make it harder to stay motivated. Walking around looking at machines and maybe having a go here and there not really focusing on any body parts just doing a set here and there.
Even just having a BASIC idea of what muscle groups you want to focus on that day will help.. but from experience, having set plans and being able to use them any day you want will just make it easier and then all you have to worry about is getting the workout done. I offer basic beginner, Intermediate & advanced plans as well as fully tailored plans.
Look I’m not here to browbeat you into doing it a certain way I’m just letting you know what experience has taught me from a beginner starting out on my own many moons ago.. to now. I never workout without a plan.. the only part of my workout I don’t have set exercises is a HIIT burner at the end of a workout. I’ve planned that I want to do 4 exercises for 40:20 sec intervals repeated 4 times.. but the exercises I choose are from a set of around 10 exercises I have in mind and I decide when I am setting up.. I may have just destroyed my shoulders so I try to avoid doing too many shoulder-based exercises or my legs are dead so I may not do a wall sit that day.. That being said sometimes I do choose exercises to continue the burn from my workout... but hey I enjoy the pain.
You don't find willpower, you create it.
