You're Pregnant.. (congratulations)! But do you want to know if you can still train?
Assuming you are healthy and your pregnancy is normal, it is safe to continue or start regular exercise.
Generally speaking.. Staying active while pregnant can have many advantages such as preventing gestational diabetes, improving sleep, helping relieve those pregnancy aches & pains, and can even support labour.
Resistance training will strengthen your muscles and help with carrying the added weight during pregnancy, assist in easing backaches and strengthen joints. It can also assist in improving muscle tone and build stamina which is what can help during labour.
Not only can it assist during pregnancy it can also be of value once the little bundle is here, with lifting and carrying your newborn as well as pram pushing.
There are adjustments that need to be made to the exercise program especially the further along you are.
